wrong, i made the cut. had a superb time with the hiring manager, took miie on a plant tour and offered a job. 7 months later, we met at a career fair and recognized miie instantly. knowing that ive craft good impression makes my world happier((: anyhows, im good except for my occasional sensitive nose.

few days back, dinner date with babes. was caught up with work, but thankfully everything turns out fine.

looking at that passage of time, i have graduated and moved on to my first official job. mondays are never blue as long as i have the bunch of lovely colleagues around. welcoming new people and doing my utmost effort in making them feel home at a foreign place. organizing activities throughout the year and d&d ended 2010 with a bang. that’s welfare!

for the longest time ever, ive neglected JUST, the place that gave miie extra cash for shopping, for the many friendship forged, and the most understanding mich who accommodated my timetable. thank you.

i am glad that i still remember to find time to do things that make miie smile. no matter how stressful life is, catching up with family, b, babes, buds and friends rocks my world. my well-deserved grad trip with babes is coming up probably in the early half and perhaps japan with buds.

so here i am in my early twenties. finding joy in the smallest things in life and aiming high. welcoming 2011 with open arms and new resolutions. may each and every of you stay happy and healthy((:

totally agree that some Singaporeans are a brunch of ignorant and selfish people. the recent commercials teaching the younger generation the value of respect for the old and environment probably hinted an upcoming trend. many times, the priority seats are usually the last to be taken. working adults are busy interacting with their psp, phone and newspaper. and everybody is waiting for the others to give up their seats to the needy. so imagine, an old man giving up his seat for a pregnant lady and a mother with 2 kids. embarrassing moments as both mothers rejected his kind gesture. that’s how bad.

anyhows, i know. no updates for close to a month. i reckon there are people reading the entries. sometimes i think it’s better off to shut down but then again it records memories that i often forget. the pictures shall do the talking..

lately, life has been searching through job portals and sending resumes. yet, no company has called for interview. stayed home for most days and doing stuff that im deprived of during the exam period. few friends have gone for their grad trip; some are back and some still doing their internship. buds are still indecisive as to where to go due to budget constraints and the curse of most women; red sea. damn. i reckon we will be travelling in the coming days, probably another delay since sy just came back from the land of smiles!

strangely, time passes slowly when there ain’t any stress and school. everybody moves in a fast paced trying to keep up with the other and never stops. i can’t wait to land myself in a job to escape this dead boring life. b has school, gatherings and tuition which seemed like a hectic life but aint really so. this vacation is a dread. HELLO people, please date miie!!!

on the happier note, i got my islander pass. yay, tanning sessions. 1day of sun= 7days of moisturizer. i know. harmful rays, that’s why ive my sunblock other than tanning days.

exam have officially ended with the last paper on 26may. hasn’t been doing anything great lately, and enjoying life as much before reality kicks in. been cooped at home for more than a month, i ought to fix the dates for my beauty retreats and swim&tan sessions. in the meantime, taking things slowly to source for the right job. traveling plans have been postponed till year end, perhaps a short getaway trip to bintan/tioman.

listening to olivia ong while writing this entry. bossa nova beats pop music. soothing and lounge. my personal preference thou. hah. staying home for most of the days since both of us are having exams. and i don't miss shopping at all but im desperately in need of the sun, sand and sea. one friend just landed a part time job at ski360 while waiting for the right job offer. you get to ~~learn~~ play on the job. why don't i get these lobangs?! on the other hand, spending hours under the sun means lotsa of sun care needed. im so going back to my swim after exams which is only in june.

this week has been traveling to and fro school. 6 hours intense revision lectures, some helpful and some not. interestingly, a couple of examiners told us every year the paper is different and spent large portion of the time enforcing exam strategies. why?! i reckon chu will be going for the local classes means that im ALONE. then again, when time is not on our side, how i wish ive 36 hours a day. hah. overheard someone's conversation saying that revision classes should be much earlier as there ain't much time left to majors. his friend rebutted, revision classes are meant for students who prepared for the prelims and to recap their weaker topics. okay, kinda agree. i didn't thought of that before.

on the random note, jack's place lunch set is definitely worth visiting be it the executive steak or the weekdays specials. amidst the intensive mugging, spend some time with your lovelies for a quick lunch indulgences ♥

hasn't been touching the oven for quite some time. made honey cornflakes on monday. sweet and crispy. here is the receipe. let miie know how it turns out if you ever try them!

150g cornflakes with almonds/nuts

50g unsalted butter

2 tablespoon granulated white sugar

5 tablespoon honey

1/2 teaspoon salt

baking cases

1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius, and lay out baking cases on a baking tray.

2. Melt butter, honey, sugar in a small saucepan at low heat, stirring constantly. Once everything is melted, add salt and stir. Remove saucepan from the heat.

3. Pour mixture over cornflakes and nuts in a mixing bowl and mix well without crushing cornflakes. I do them in small batches.

4. Spoon mixture into baking cases and bake in preheated oven for 4-5 minutes. The time will depend on your oven.

5. Remove baking tray from oven. You will find that the cornflakes are quite moist. Place the baking cases on cooling rack to cool completely. The cooling will help the cornflakes to 'set' into crunchy goodness.

6. Once cooled completely, store them in an airtight box and keep them away from compulsive eaters.

7. Enjoy!

few days back, shan&rozz show had ris low which caused so many angry listeners. silly. im just glad no more ris low, its just a april fool joke.

2apr. public holidays mean family time. drove fam to changi airport for crystal jade. from west to east, madly insane, though im on the expressway most of the time. food was great and we ain't even hungry at dinner time partly because we left home late to avoid the lunch crowd. alrights, we kids are too comfortable in our beds to get moving. hah. then headed to town for shopping. mama&meimei gotten their birthday bags from dad. boutique shopping is relaxing with fam even if we come out empty-handed, thy are "nice" people.

3apr. terrible headache. so bad that i couldn't turn up for work and i heard its quite chaotic in the morning. my apologies. on the happier side, cold rock!!

solemnization celebration at hotel rendezvous.; ms tan to mrs fung. its my first time attending such event alone without my parents. hah. clueless, none of us know what to give. eventually, we settled for a big angpao. so, after work, cabbed down to meet the rest. the solemnization was done in chinese which is kinda comical and sweet. justice of peace verifies and signs and thy are officially married((:

anyhows, belated birthday dinner for chu&ting. ting, 2 weeks mc for chickenpox. surprisingly, all of us had it before when we are young. now, her sisters caught the virus one after another. blessings or curse?! i don’t know. made the right choice for alfresco dinning at ashton after seeing 5 girls squashed like sardine in a 4 seater. hah. then headed for movie, remember miie. shit boring romance. alrights, we are being cheated by the reviews. action, comedy, war are better picks.

alone for micro lect which ended late and i gotta rush over to msm lect. when chu didn't turn up for both lects, we thought she had overslept again. surprisingly, despite our constant grumblings the week before, she has forgotten about sun makeup class. lols. happily soaking in the cny break, i can hardly feel the prelim madness. wake up, sherlyn. though david quek sternly warns us, "give only 60% of your power during prelims, NOT 100%". laughters. practically everyone is amazed by his words of wisdom. and that his students somehow always scores well.

sunday doesn't feels like sunday. ive school, not working and shopping with joan. most of the sales are gone and lotsa of shops are closed probably because of new year. town is only 30 mins away from school and home, and ive been there almost every week. pui. it makes miie feel sick at times. hah. left for novena as denise's wine at far east square is closed. and then, for katong laksa. okay, it aint't as fantastic. anyhows, we managed to grab some gifts for the feb&march babies. and im left with 1 more to go.

as much i detest being changed, im guilty of changing another.

few days before cny, packed my room and chanced upon a box of (love) letters from primary bestie, kat. with the envelops intact, neither the papers turned yellowish and nor there are any silverfish. okay, i do change the box every year. after 10years of safekeeping, these memories shall stay within and so i threw em all into the recycle bag. random readings. friendship poems, cute expressions and till today then i realised one guy was particularly "hot" during my pri-sec days. sadly, i don't fancy him. hah. found a bottle of pins, my reading owl pins. from p1 t p5, probably gave up in p6. those days i gotta do book reviews and my teacher would randomly pick some titles and ask miie questions. silly. i wonder if thy still have this now. hah.

done with spring cleaning, next in line for browhaus and citibella. has threading for boys become the trend in singapore?! perhaps more men are conscious of their facial hair grooming needs. its common in japan partly because thy have naturally thick brows. clemt said browhaus is pretty costly as compared to the other beautician rates. agree. generally, i like their tweeze and maybe if im feeling rich, i will sign up for their ultimate package. lols.

this valentine's day coincides with chinese new year. many did their visitings in the day and out dating at night. for some reason, gotta lugged my collage to school and had my pre-dinner with B at Jack's Place. boyfriend delivered his on valentine's day. i ♥ teddy big foot. anyhows, visitings become more routined as i grow older. had a nice time playing with mafia so much so that i wanted to get a poodle but it comes with huge responsibility. i know.

thursay, steamboat with babes. surprisingly, we are the only customers at 7pm. alrights, the food is darn limited. handed em their sweet delights. and off for random walks around chinatown.

headed to qy's place on monday alone cox sy and lena are happily enjoying their holiday trips. then to B and mine. river hongbao 2010 is the same year after year. sitted at the spectators stand and enjoying the sea breeze as massive throngs of people arrived when closer to evening time.

oh boys, ive been sick for the entire week. running nose, phlegm, cough, fever and headaches are making my life so miserable. staying indoors and drinking lotsa of fluids don't seem to help much. to make matter worse, my trusted doc is on a long leave. despaired, i visited another clinic that needed to dig my records from the storeroom. nurse: “when have you last visited, very very very long ago?”

anyhows, boyfriend has been awfully nice. he brought miie honey and flowers. yay!!! i ♥ flowers.

unlike the rest, we decided to not to wait aimlessly for the fireworks at marina square. thongs of families occupied the every concrete space in hope for the best view. 10pm, its already crammed full. outdoor seats at marina square food junction were already taken up. totally felt like the entire singapore is out there. arghh..

then headed to singapore flyer. surprise, surprise. someone handed us a pair of tickets. for whatever reason, i don't know. it didn't occur to us to ask why but trying to understand what the 2 tourists are saying. nevertheless, thanks! at the flyer, everyone was gambling the right time to get on the wheel. oh wells, we succeeded in boarding the first cabin. for many, they were estranged at the waiting area as no one was expecting the corporate passes to take up soooo many cabins. sheer luck, i guess.

met up with the boys for dinner. with a few senseless turns, we had a beancurd and prata but a pity that the buffalo wings at seletar was closed. after dinner was a random idea to meet nessa. she&him was really a big big surprise, definitely for vin. hah anyhows, hope that she made the right choice and move on. headed for movie, ninja assassin, with none of us knowing the storyline we bought the tickets. bloody scenes and kickass ninjas that don't die after multiple slashes but RAIN is definitely a hot bod. boyfriend says that RAIN has 0% body fats, im impressed.

collected the cake and headed to boyfriend's place. many thanks, vin. had a hard time finding the block as ive not drove there before but thanks for your patience. i'll make time for treats and im not exactly a busy woman okay. that's because ive school and work so time is not always not on my side. i'll still try((:

a simple birthday affair for boyfriend. handmade a photo holder cum card thou ive officially declared closed shop for all the 21^st birthdays. despite the rain and clouds early morning, we went sentosa as planned. as expected, no sun but we had a good game of Frisbee. and dinner was at carousel. jack's place. hah. ending with a walk at botanic. with christmas trees decorated along the path, its really makes the hearts warmer.

did my highlights last thursday by anson. 2nd visit to actpoint. satisfied and highly delighted by his attentiveness. reviews by so many girls on the forums didn't disappoint miie at all and so that explains the slightly higher price. curls will stay for good until i find a better hairstyle and him convincing miie that short hair is really suitable and/or to do a more 'pong' curls. hah. i shall consider.

the thing about kids having their holidays jam-packed with enrichment programmes and tuition have always been our controversial topic. don't ask miie why, maybe cox we were once colleagues and take different standpoints. as long as these kiddies enjoy their lessons, im more than happy to send em to and fro((:

lately, big shiny afternoons with a short shower in the evenings leaving the night cool and breezy. how nice if i can hide under a big umbrella with a book and freezy drink at the beach. i shall work out some plans to sentosa!!! then again, the love-hate thing about the sun, it dries the skin and girls aged a lot faster than boys. yeps, don't bother for updates. life has being real busy. fri sat and sun are a drag and thy always come in a flash. it really makes miie hesitate if i should lessen my work and concentrate on my studies at the expense of living with my poor savings. how nice, if im born with a ~~silver~~ gold spoon or hitch a rich boyfriend. hah

4 months of stress-free life ended with an eventful week.

lena’s 21st birthday on Saturday. work ended later than usual cox one class was being held back. rushed back home, had a quick bathe and headed over to bud’s place. again, everyone has finished dinner and happily chit-chatting. myself, im well -fed. big portions of food grilled readily just for miie! hah.

and all thanks to the hari raya puasa on Sunday, i get to spend the entire day with clemt. TheUglyTruth movie is good and almost very truth. hilarious ,and a little crude and clemt agrees with the cast. then headed for a stroll at sentosa. anyhows, i really had an awesome time!

as expected, the entire day was spent with my boy. started with him coming over to my place with a bag of fruits. and while im preparing myself, he cut the fruits. really sweet, knowing that i hardly cut fruits. headed to sentosa for tanning and then dinner at a jap restaurant for grilled beef.

yay. 11 jul. that concludes my 21st birthday bash. planning for this party is a breeze and the real challenge is on the big day itself. bbq with family on friday night. walked over to imm for my french manicure on saturday morning. then headed to paragon to collect my cake.

the big day. with a slight drizzle in the evening, we are so afraid that the buffet can't be placed outside as there ain't much space indoors. still, took a gamble and thankfully, everything is fine. sudden changes with a couple of the guest list and that resulted in lots of leftover food. and to think that daddy is kind enough to increase the buffet pax to 40, it's a little disheartening. anyhows, it was a success. tired but all worthwhile!

sat, gaynes 21st birthday. again, have to rush down after work. fine dining at mizuki was closed for renovations. headed to waruku instead and then indochine. someone unexpected turned up and yay, i had a good chat with him.

mon, baking. buds call miie flamingo toh after seeing how i stand while cooking. oh boys, thy thought its funny. sadly, we took no photo. settled for the caramel choc cake and choc chip cookies. and after messing up my kitchen, its was already 4pm when im supposed to be at je. eventually, my boy came over and we left only after 6pm.

nessa's 21st on sat at mt faber safra. babes in blue and surprisingly most of her friends turned up in blue as well. that uncle came late and was a little not himself. after that incident, things have changed and its never like before. maybe it just takes time for us to break the ice. anyhows, no hard feelings.

headed to vivo. saw some pretty dresses but instantly dropped the idea of buying when we decided for another shopping spree on tues. joan left for family dinner and ms.chu being so worried about her "meetup" wanted us to accompany her to cityhall. hah. everything will be fine okay. then dinner was soup restaurant with my boy.

yay, i found my helium balloons for my party. i need transport! mama has been pushing miie to plan my stuff. invitation list? which camera to buy? which caterer? hows the deco? dress to wear? oh well.. volunteers please! hah.

on a lighter note, daddy bought miie a watch((: had a hard time deciding if i should get the red or black. mama thinks red suits miie but reminded that i shouldn't have too much red. i love black too!

life has been so far so good. now that ms.ting sweetheart is out of town for a month, ms.chu only concern is my schedule. our once a week affair continues unless im occupied with work. anyhows, their surprise visit on tues really brighten my murderous bookfest duty. then supper at xinwang. and my boy came on 2 days! bookfest aint that boring afterall. hah.

yay, im done with my papers. really its something unlike the poly standards, gone are the days with projects and common test to help pull up the marks. that will be my result coming august.

mother's day on last sun. the mothers-of-all-mothers gathered at my grannies place. despite the upcoming 2 consecutive papers, i decided to stay throughout the night. somehow i like this kinda little gatherings; not just having dinner with your family but together with others. homemade food is the best!

dinner at manpuku last night. babes bought sei kits for cardmaking. after countless attempts of brainwashing them to lay their hands on their first card making, thy are finally putting words into actions. you too, chong! then again, i hasn't been crafting for a year or so and the urge to do so aint that strong as before. lazy, im.

rights, a little update. has been shuffling between school and work, leaving few time for nonsense. lest, life has been so far so good.

mum's birthday on 8april. i did rmb days before and intended to treat the whole family for dinner on sat but somehow it didn't register on that wed. showed miie the card her colleagues made and said that i could make do with a simple card for my friends which doesn't take so much time and cost. so when her kids did nothing special, dad had already wished her in the early morning. aw.. so sweet.

boys, i got back my prelim papers. keep working hard till the exam!

2 weeks, i have been out with babes more often than usual. these days we are getting so much closer than before. and all that thanks to ms.ting new love. yay, we can have lunch/dinner together anytime. exams in about 1 months time meaning that i will be stuck with revision classes almost everyday.

strangely, im starting to like my curls. after so many washes, thy look slightly more natural and not as tight. so for the time being, i will stick with this. a big change in miie led to another bud to perm hers. im so looking forward to see her on sat's party. her saying that mine was a super daring gung-ho, decided a makeover after her hairstylist suggested so. and mine said that too!

wii-sessons with babes and we are lovin' it. a little warm-up and all set to battle. at the end of the day, the 4 of us like wii-sports best, particularly the tennis match. even with the air-con, we are perspiring and us screaming throughout the 2 hours. i finished my bottle of water. hah. so much fun, and im a little tempted to get a wii but the price is a major turn off.

totally screwed up.

the fact that i couldn't finish my readings on the day of paper didn't cause any jittery. though optional, i went ahead to "feel the exam atmosphere"’. surprisingly, i sat through the entire 3 hours and how the heck i manage to scribble my answers really amazed miie. exams period, anyone can tell. the entire bus of students are so busy fighting with their notes. hah. its just prelims.

anyhows, i got my weekend break for this unimportant prelim. yeah. ever since this job, it has been duper long i get to wake up late on sat&sun. with everyone at home, its really a joy. mum suggested a short getaway trip, but with conflicting schedules, its really hard to accommodate. i love travelling! at lest, in this lifetime, i hope to travel around the world with no money boundaries.

babes, hopefully this year we get to travel. the other time was really a pity but somehow, thankfully we didn't make any advance booking. i don't know what will happen then.

a lil change to the layout. gone are blues and more colors to my life!

been hiatus for quite a long time and people are asking for updates. everything has been good. work wise, other than those ridiculous complaint cases, so far so good. i believe it got to do with my stm; blatter off on the same day and tend to forget the nitty-gritty after that. hah. other than that, ive been seeing a lot of new colleagues which means my temporary relocation to JE1 days will be extended. then again, loves the kids at JE1 and i seem to be able to connect with them better. twins birthday on sat. the few e2&e3 people and big bunch of relatives. practically, the entire night is about 21st birthday. where? when? how? who's next? and when i thought planning now is still early for mine is in july, im wrong. some sept babies have already booked the venue and come up with an invitation list. anyhows, more to birthday parties to attend, more hoo-ha and a big hole to my pocket. *photos another day okay.

crap, flu again and after ytd work, my throat feels dry. talking non-stop to parents, entertaining phone calls and taking payments that i still have stuff not done by 6pm. the counter is practically in a mess with cheques, option forms, withdrawal forms and file vouchers left everywhere but still manageable. it's only J that irritates miie and seems like most have the same thot. we just don't clique. i'll be thankful if you don't create more problems for miie.

and anyway, ML gave miie some good advice. mum says that i trusted people too much and not everyone takes responsibility for their actions. is that a blessing or a curse?

an impromptu cleaning leaves miie with a few surprises and lots of antique stuff being thrown away. notepads with yellowish papers (recycling bin), dried color pens and paint markers are now in my bin. reading through my childhood autograph book, there are ~~some~~ few whom i still have contact with and some oops i really forgotten. cec, i saw yours! i wonder if kids today keep autograph books. it's too much of a memory and is a must-have for every kid. the handwriting that i used to write in those days is so neat and small. hah. anyhows, those are the days.

friday: by the time I ended work, it's already 10:30pm; slightly later than the other side. that day must be some important occasion for the Chinese for many are making offerings to the god. placing almost anywhere along the glass patches and leaving behind traces of plastic wrappers. that reminds miie of what an old Indian lady has said to her counterpart, 'good (to) put that notice (as) the Chinese always anyhow burn their incense papers.' True. though im a pure Chinese and comes from a Buddhist family, i can feel for her. on the other hand, she used 'always' that is so fallacious.

anyway, wed was post b-day celebration for qy at Crystal Jade. it was originally planned for Kinshin-bo but sy lesson ended late and complained about the steep pricing while qy&i have already prepared more than enough funds for the big feast. afterwards was swensens ice-cream. *satisfied* as for her card, snail mailed to her last week. thou I feel that the card wasn't "enough"; lacks of something. that something which i can’t explain. you tell miie. tag if you know.

0400. i never once thot that i'll be blogging at this hour. since there's no school for tml, and instead of tossing and turning in bed, i shall blog. hah. as usual, training on thursday and today with a lil drizzle in between the drills didn't stop us from surfing and tossing. due to maintenance works at NP field, training is changed to SIM GlobalCampus @ UluPandan. boys, i didn't know SIM has another campus. well, for raining days, astroturf field is the best.

saw a lot of new faces and thy are handled personally by the coach for the basics. looking at them, their training looks a lil different and stricter; with hardly any rest and so much to absorb. and just before we left, D asked if we are going for recreational or competitive. leisure, i guess. I like the drills. then again, ain't very keen into playing competitively. if leisure is all about friendly games throughout the 2-3hours, it's such a bore.

had a long chat with joan till wee hours on wed and we are both so energetic. random talks. the thing is, 'why are we still single?' is always one of our topics. and mentioning about crafts, she loves this year'’s bday card. considering, till date, one of my satisfactory piece is your lastest card. thinking back, i think you shld have collected 3 already (*not counting the festive seasons). the most among babes! when are you making one for miie? im waiting… (:

rights, bridging classes have ended with 2 papers on 13&15. all I can say, maths is so much easier. Just a lil more time, there will always be a solution. Well.. till 1 sep for the release of results. school has officially started; taking 2 foundation units now and another 2 further units later in 15sep. a lil different from poly, lect&tut is now merged into 1 and turning 2 to 3 hours. other than that, everything is practically the same.

14aug: happy20b-day bud! stuck in between my papers, dinner has to be postponed. and I haven’t come up with a card yet. arghhh.. it has been a while since I last touch my crafts (the last was abby’s farewell) and I really need more inspirations.

As for work, i've been posted to JE2 till further notice. met more people and thy are really nice. and people, im working on fri&sat&sun. avoid the calls, and keep the sms-es. sometimes it's really hard to chat during working hours unless it's smt urgent yea. then again, im open after 6pm on weekends.

Crap, I have accounting lesson on sun morning from 0830-1130. As expected, I was late and sleepy. And having to report to work after class, spoils the day. Surprisingly, so many turned up though the lecture was not publicly announced. No email reminders and heard from Joan that it was posted on the eboard.

Workshop was a nonsense. The stuff that NP had chosen not to teach us because it was too simple and assumed that we should know was being taught in the lecture. 3 hours wasted for which I could have earned if im at work. Probably, this workshop was more catered to the first-time contact with accounting.

thursday training was good. a quick glance from afar, we saw no one. on a closer look, thy were there but we are the only 2 girls that turned up. kinda of disappointed that girls tend to give up halfway through when being outnumbered by the boys. 2 of us got into different teams, turning from teammates to opponents. Lol. for the last game, i joined another team. sure, it was totally a different experience unlike the usual one. there was more coordination and eye contact though it was my first time playing with them. thy looked pleased as well. (:

anyway, i had my weekly dosage of Starbucks after the game. after a year or so for not drinking Mocha Frappuccino, decided to give it a try again. yucks! it was way too sweet even without the whipped cream. that drink used to be my favorite during my childhood days. now everything has changed. latte becomes my top pick. be it green tea or caramel macchiato, as long as it is latte, im satisfied.

another season of enchantment.

mon was SingaporeGardenFestival 2008 with Joan. for just 3$, it is really a steal. and as we enter, im like OMG, nice. landscape and fantasy gardens that I often see in prints are now displayed right in my eyes. im indeed very amazed by their architect structure and concepts in each of the masterpieces. culture, attitude and personality are also incorporated into their designs.

merely in 2 hours, seeing so many flowers really brighten my day. the flower aroma that lingers in the air just make miie want to stay even longer. ((: the best of show and also the gold award winner comes from singapore! well, joan&i can't help falling for it too. (*visit b4 1st aug & tell miie if you agree with us) with so many people gathered at the main attraction, it made photo-taking a challenge. the 2 of us were frantically looking for every opportunity to have our shot taken. And btw, it's really a gong-tuk mistake to just get anyone to help take photos. after 2 unsatisfactory photos, we target at those with DSLR. finally, some good photos.

and then to the Orchid show@L4. a lil disappointed. perhaps its more for retail and students' displays. for that, we did a quick tour and off to starbucks.

i love handmade gifts, don't you?

that tues was Dark Knight with babes. Many recommendations to catch that movie. But overall I thought it was draggy and too many redundant scenes. PGmovies with not any grisly actions but according to Joan, one woman beside was making senseless remarks throughout the movie. Super irritated but nothing to stop that bimbo from winding to her boy.

wed was initially planned for the Southern Bridge. Cancelled because of the rain and thus lunch at Alumni Clubhouse, PINES. Anyway, changed of plan. sy drove us home to put our barang barang before heading to lena’s place. Buds had a plan and I knew it when her mum accidentally leaked it. This year, it was a belated birthday celebration with a different feel. I was expecting the usual dinner affair and nothing like this. The 20-muffins with cutouts specially designed by Lena and knowing that im obessed with papercrafts, thy gotten miie MWL vouchers. (*qy hints to create more lovely gifts for them) then, hopped on lena's car to her parents' eatery. I must say her nasi lemak is fantastically good. (:

and eventually I went to doc on Thurs after meeting shawn for lunch. More medicine due to delay consultation and doc gave an MC for work. For that, rain check for Frisbee but work as per normal on Friday. As for ms.chu the last babe who fell sick after sticking too close with us. The main culprit, nessa! I hope that didn’t spoil your random trip.

down with flu. I reckon I'm not visiting the doc since I can foresee the doc's prescription; self-medication. Over the years, the clinic has my history of sensitive nose, so much so that the doc knows whenever I pop by. Mum signed miie up for swimming when I was in primary school which did help a lil to my sensitive nose. Those were the days when I was tanned and people claimed that I slimmed down a lot. Did I? (:

Either I had too much hoo-ha over the week or the body simply can't take it anymore. But anyw, I went to work on Friday. Blur and slow in movement that I wasn't vigilant to the surroundings. Felt drowsy but I wanted to carry on. Reported to JE2 first as ML wanted to show miie around. To my surprise, thy did a mini-post-celebration. That was their plan. I shall skip the details.

Took off on Sat and I slept from 10-4pm. Gosh! How did I do that?

Back to position on Sun. More nose blowing and Edwin aint feeling any better. He blamed the flu on stress. Well, I didn't spread the virus to him though coincidentally, we 2 are off on Sat. Sun was was farewell dinner for abby. Made a lil card, attached with a gift for this special friend made. Sure, I'm gonna miss you.

Not to worry, I'm recovering well. I want movies, supper, outdoor and ~~manicure~~ (nails trimmed coz of Frisbee) And,yes, I gotten my 20 well-wishes from babes&dudes. In fact, there are more. Thanks people.

Ultimate Frisbee. Unlike the usual orientation, there's no ice-breaker and senseless games. Somehow we know each other on the game. Together with Joan, we are attached to Bryan. 6 in a team, we frisbee our way to the 3rd place. Boy, that night was fun. Now im officially having trainings on Thursday. As for dinner dates, if you don’t mind my smelly scent. (:

On the other side, people have been asking if im able to juggle work, studies and cca. Have to, right? So, from Thursday to Sunday, I'll be totally immersed with work and cca, leaving shopping & activities on the remaining days, when babes&dude are usually free only on weekends. Looks like more scheduling is needed!

Birthday celebrations with few bunch of them. The earliest was with Nessa&Joan&ChuWen, followed by ChonG at Dempsey Hill, Illy. And today with Vin at East Coast, Aston. (*im still pretty impressed with vin's driving. don't ask miie why. its hard to explain.) Coming up will be with Gaynes. Mum says that this year seems a lil funny with celebrations here and there. Class was cancelled on wed due to orientation. People sighed when the news was announced during the lecture. No publicity, purely reminders for us to attend. Eventually, babes decided to give it a miss since it’s only a 1 day event.

Sentosa on Mon. Grey skies and it started raining in the early afternoon. Surprisingly, the sky was clear and breezy. Lil chance for tanning, we decided to have a lil stroll around Sentosa which turned out pretty nice. Ended with a rest at the lookout tower at Palawan Beach. Looking at the sea, and time really flies. Peaceful. So much so that I want to go back again.

Off to Vivo for dinner at Asian Kitchen. We were there early and the restaurant looked vacant. Thy on the other hand, insisted that we have to sit near the entrance. Silly of them to say that the section was closed because it was closed. 1 group left and our eyes were on the manager. Yes, we gotten better seats. Trouble came again when the food arrived. The chef was careless of nessa special requests. Goodness. The serving crew even insisted on not having special request for the food item. Mind you! Not that we didn't inform beforehand. Somehow, the supervisor just reprimanded the chef right in front of us.

Then for ice-cream at Bens&Jerry. My favourite! Just the 4 of us, without the boys. Dinner with them was postponed till further notice. Lols. Travelling to and fro to Vivo was lil different w/o vin. But anyway, half of the journey I was dozing away.

Some events that I recall.

WJ birthday. A lil delay which I only get to meet her on the 17. Indecisive on which to get for her, I eventually settled for a corsage; though the price is rather steep. Then again, I love the flowers. The thot of spending on flowers for bestie is blissful. Anyway, the SG Garden festa is coming on 25 July – 1 August. Sure, I’ll be going. The adrenaline is pumping for more flowery sessions. Chanced upon the activities offered by the CCs, thy are opening flower arrangement classes for all occasions. Hallelujah!

Been baking lately. Lemon Muffins and cheesecake. Both successful and I received quite a number of compliments esp. for the cheesecake. Gonna try on more recipes the nxt baking crave. But then, I’ve spend quite a bomb on these equipments and baking ingredients. Good news is, Mum is offering to free up some kitchen space for my baking storage.

Ytd was movies Get Smart with babes. 6$ for students which is dirt cheap as compared to other theatres. Nice show with lots of humor and everyone was laughing like mad. Dinner at nydc which we waited for about 30 mins. Cam-whoring and non-stop chattering. Call it tally-patty, we all had mushroom ham baked rice. lols.

School has started and I have been attending Maths and Econs bridging class diligently. So far so good. And econs is getting harder while maths is not too bad! Lols. Im thinking of joining cca lately. ODAC/Ultimate Frisbee/Tennis? (:

Not forgetting EOA day which i decided to turn up randomly. I was in black when the entire JE branch wore their blue 'togetherness'. lols. Mine was in the office. The result of impromptu decision! Big boss was there; ppl from diff branches hardly mingle ard.

Chalet at Sentosa. As usual, Vin came over to fetch miie. Joan bus-ed over to my place to take the free ride. Lunch at Bt. Timah and to fetch Jackson. Boy, it has been a year since I last met him. No change, maybe tanner and more muscular?

By the time we are done with the grocery, it was already 3pm. No chance for tanning, plainly just a game of captain ball, Frisbee and monkey. But it was fun. BBQ at around 6 plus. And the best thing of all, it was solely prepared by the boys. From the charcoal to bbq-ing, thy did everything; though the process of marinating the food is disgusting. Overall, thy did a good job! Of course, I lye the feeling of being so pampered. Haha.

For miie, the day ended with a pool dunk. Grabbed by Vin&Jackson, body search by Van and dunked together with Jackson. Totally didn’t expect that. The few ‘dryed’ ppl predicted so as I’m closer to the wet dunkers and I can swim. Lols. ((:

5 Jun. My contract ended with Pepperl + Fuchs. 3 months ago, I had so much grievances when first joined them. As days passed, my body was accustomed to the rigid working hours and working style. Then, 2 new HR colleagues joined the team. My partner, HY, made working less boring. Wendy who gave miie the opportunity to learn more about HR. Somehow, I like being a HR.

Landed with a new part-time job at Just Education Tuition Centre as a PCSO. Interview by the branch asst. mgr. was smooth and in high spirits. No stress and I managed to breeze through the entire 30 mins. Perhaps being a HR practitioner, I kinda expecting even more challenging questions. Well.. it’s a bless that she didn’t make things difficult for miie. Good news came before I went BKK.

Day 5: City Tour/Chatuchek Weekend Market

Boat tour around the main attractions along the river which segment the old BKK and the modern one. The only pitstop was to Wat Arun Temple which we opted to linger around the religious area while some went in to seek blessings. Next was to the jewelry shop and honey farm. Less than a quarter bought their stuff which caused a lil grumblings from the tour guide. I supposed tipping rose from 80THB to 100THB. Then we realized, we had already made tipping on the first day to our designated driver/guide. Since, there was a change in tour guide, we had to tip again. Sigh. Cheated though it was only 400THB.

Drop off point was at Chatuchek which the driver took dinosaur time to reach. 2 hours and we had drifted further than expected. Along the way, we pass by Dusit Zoo which we had initially planned to visit. 5 days in BKK therefore we were sort of familiar with the different districts which made us even certain that he lost his way. No wonder for his frequent stopovers to ask for directions.

Left Chatuchek much earlier than planned. Surprisingly, the urge to shop was totally at its pit. The crowd and heat was overwhelming that I had no interest in anything. So BUDS ice-cream at an air-con shopping mall. ((:

Day 6: Back home

Packed our luggage. For our food stuff, all check-in into a big box. Thankfully, the hotel had it. One dumb question that I asked “Is the box big enough?” which I wanted to ask was “how big is the box?” The operator’s reply was YES. Buds couldn’t help laughing at my bimbotic question.

Day 4: Chatuchek/MBK

Day 4: Chatuchek Weekend Market/Mah Boon Krong (MBK)

Sat morning was initially scheduled for city tour. Left with only 10 mins before our pickup time, we gobbled our breakfast. Turned out that, the agent was in Cambodia. Heck. Totally disappointed with their service that we even thought of getting a refund. But anyway, he arranged our city tour on Sun.

A swoop of our itinerary, we went to Chatuchek. 100THB cab fare and we reached within 15 mins. The driver was speeding and changing lanes like mad. He also reminded SY to buckle up as compared to other drivers who didn't even bother at all. Lols.

10am. Most shops are either closed or preparing for opening. We had an easy time meandering from shops to shops. For just 1 lane of shops, it took us an hour. Considering that thy have 5,000 shops altogether and navigating through the narrow lanes made shopping even more tedious. Moreover, it is under the scorching weather, with thousands of people at the market. The only chance was to chill in air-con retail shops, sometimes acting like we were really interested but the aim was AIR-CON. High endurance, we left only in the late afternoon.

MBK for dinner. Similar to Singapore, most food junctions use cashless payment via cashcard or vouchers. Eating at BKK doesn't even require us to bring tissue. Every table will have a box of tissue paper. I bet if Singapore ever implements this system, tissue papers will be gone within seconds. Haha.

We made reservations prior our visit to BKK via their website at 1,000THB per pax. Having heard no news since confirmation, we sought help from the hotel tour counter. Offered at a lower rate (800THB) for the same package, we took up their services. Yeah, she cancelled our previous reservations. 200THB more for shopping. ((: We only received the notification letter when we returned to our room. Prolly becox we were out the entire day when thy tried to reach us.

2 hours ride with the morning jams, we reached Dreamworld on the dot. No fussy queues. We just needed to collect the tickets at their box office. Lunch was buffet style and tourist’s cafeteria was separated from the locals. Perhaps they offered more varieties for tourists.

Day 2: Fishing Village/Platinium Market & Shop'g Mall

Fishing Village; about an hour journey away from BKK. Our tour guide is Nui; very friendly and engaging. Surprisingly, she is super fluent in English. Quickly making use of the opportunity to ask for directions and recommendations as majority of the Thais can’t communicate in Basic English. Thais do learn English in school but it’s only 1 hour per week. Problem is that thy usually converse in Thai and hardly practice EL.

Out at the sea on the Thai long-tail boat. I’ve never been so near to the arms of the ocean and it’s definitely a great experience. Given a chance, I’ll want to visit there again. Peaceful and relaxed; away from the bustle city. Mussels are bred using strings that are coated with food solutions which the mussels feed on. Clams are dug from the mud. So much things that we don’t get to see in our small lil red dot.

Lunch was seafood and fruits on the bamboo stilt house. Sumptuous meal with princess-like treatment. Why? Thy offered to peel the craps and prawns. And we were like ‘huh’? Are you serious? So we had the table to ourselves and thy only had their lunch at the back of the hut until we finished ours. Somehow, at that time I didn’t really like to be treated differently. We did invite them to join us but thy rejected. Prolly that’s their culture or because we are the guests. ((: Anyw.. this private tour isn’t cheap at all. Estimated about 75$ per person which includes driver, tour guide, air-con minivan(very comfy), lunch, bananas for monkey feeding, fuel, tow charges and boat trip. A lot of arrangements have to be communicated before leaving for BKK as the owner, Tong, replies all her emails personally. Join this tour mans!

Back to BKK in the late afternoon. Nui dropped us off at Platinum Market and explained to us the various shopping districts over there. Among all places, Platinum has the greatest offers with wholesales prices so much lower as compared to Chatuchek or Suan Lam Night Bazaar. Then dinner was A&W; the long-lost fastfood. Rootbeer float!

Thailand: A Land of Smiles

Many people asked about my Bangkok trip and yea it was great. Other than the sizzling temperature, we had a pleasant time shopping & exploring the entire Bangkok. Surprisingly, we managed to visit most of the must-go places cited on the traveler's books. Travelling to and fro places is mainly by taxi and the total expense is comparable to a single trip here. Our stay in Twin Towers Hotel is definitely the right choice; beautiful view, great services and comfy rooms. Fortunately, we didn't pick Asia Hotel just because it's located in the middle of the shopping district and the BTS is in front of the hotel. Location wise, Twin Tower is 2 streets away from MBK. We tried walking over but ended up losing our way. My recommendation, if ure not on a super tight budget, take the taxi. Most of them will charge based on the meter but if you want to reach your destination fast, negotiate the price before boarding. That's what we normally do!

Day 1: Twin Towers Hotel/Chinatown/Hard Rock Café

Reached the Suvarnabhumi Airport without delay but had trouble looking for our airport transfer agent. Walked up and down the arrival hall till other agents approached to help us. Prolly he was late, I don't know as we didn't see him and moreover, he was wearing red which made it even harder to miss. First thing he asked if we wanted to watch the ‘Tiger’ show which cost 30$ for each pax. Way too costly and ridiculous for watching something that we will never understand at all. Even another lady from London (her 10th visit) said it was too expensive.

Anyway, city tour was scheduled on Sat. Checked in at Twin Towers and headed to Chinatown for lunch. As for lunch, we walked the entire street of Chinatown and nothing appealed to us. Restaurants look vacant and unhygienic. Turned off by the overpriced menu, we went to their market. Lunch was chicken rice. Did a lil shopping and I realize that every alley is segmented into different category.

Then to Khao San Road via the Chao Praya Express Boat. Clueless about which direction to take, we asked the local. One young chap who looks educated and is busy shooting pictures of various modes of transportation. Understood us but wasn't able to converse in proper English, tried using hand signs but to no avail. He decided to bring us there. lols.

Dinner was at Hard Rock Café. No promo and costly. I thought it's a must-buy merchandise for every country I visit. Well.. it wasn't within my budget this time. Anyway, dinner was good. Universal pricing and standards, so there ain't any complaints; 3 main courses for 4 which we sy&miie still had a hard time digesting everything.

Friday was dinner at Waruku for Joan's birthday. Lots of people turned up which it made it more like another gathering. No pictures as none has brought cam. Such a pity yea! Then drinking at Harry's bar.

That night live band's performance was average; not much of applauses for him. Van’s partner joined us and I'm glad that she has finally the love. (: somehow it is different from the past. Waited for Vin&Shawn for 2 hours but thy only returned when we decided to leave. As usual, my travel mate, Vin. He drove a lorry. Boy, my first ride on a lorry and I'm pretty impressed with his driving skills. Way to go! Afterall, your day isn't that bad.

Out of random, Van mentions about her good friend, Justin. Not Yim or Boo but Han. Congrats for winning the OAAG Flying Club championship. It has been a month since the competition but still congrats! Van's good recommendation whom she claims to be ‘tan, sporty, talented golfer, tall, rich, caring, don't smoke, don't club’ criteria hits home run to be my perfect partner. Too good to be true? Haha. Curious? Just Google him and you know who he is.

On the other note, my MWL FSC has officially expired and thy have issued another card to miie. 250$ in a year which is also the same amount that a scrapaholic spends on per trip. To date, I haven't experiment on scrapbooking but mainly designing cards for various occasions. Prolly when I'm older... when i've my own family. lols.((:
